Abstract:
Daily use of the manure belt to clean chicken droppings is fundamental to maintaining the environment and production performance of the chicken coop. In summer, the manure conveyor belt should be used for cleaning primarily before and after feeding in the morning; in winter, manure removal belt should be used primarily in the evening for cleaning. If personnel are sufficient, chicken manure belt is best to use it twice a day, in the morning and evening. The operation of the poultry manure belt should be monitored by designated personnel, with timely inspections of the manure belt's tension and alignment, and periodic cleaning of the secondary scraper and triangular scraper at the front end of the manure belt equipment to extend equipment life and reduce disease risk. This article provides a directly executable checklist, maintenance items, and pros and cons based on field experience and standard points from Guangzhou Zhongshen Ribbon Products Co., Ltd. ('Zhongshen'), making it convenient for farms to use on-site and for training.
Target audience:
1.Managers, feeders, and equipment maintenance personnel of egg-laying/chicken-poultry farms
2.Procurement of automated manure removal belts and poultry farm management personnel
Key points:
1.Frequency: Run the manure belt at least once a day; in summer, it is recommended to operate the manure conveyor belt before and after feeding in the morning; in winter, it is suggested to run the manure removal belt in the evening; if manpower is sufficient, run manure cleaning belt once in the morning and once in the evening.
2.Dedicated supervision: Someone must be present to observe the entire operation of the manure belt, to promptly identify any misalignment, sagging, or obstruction.Sagging limitation of the manure conveyor belt: The lowest point at the tail end should not be more than 20 cm from the upper edge of the side panel (the example on-site is 11 cm).
3.Scraper cleaning: The secondary scraper on the manure belt equipment and the triangular scraper at the head end should be cleaned at least once a week; the blades and scrapers should be immediately washed after cleaning to avoid residue reflux, clumping, and the breeding of bacteria.
4.Seasonal differences: In summer, the manure removal belt expands due to heat, so it is important to pay attention to tensioning and misalignment; in winter, the manure conveyor belt can be moderately loosened and kept relaxed after washing, tightening it again before entering the chickens.
5.Health and equipment dual benefits: Using the poultry manure belt can keep the area clean, reduce ammonia and pathogens, improve the chickens' growth environment while lowering maintenance rates and prolonging equipment lifespan.
Operation and Inspection Checklist:
1.Before the operation of the manure conveyor belt begins:
Confirm designated personnel on duty, check for no obstacles in the surrounding area; wear protective gear (gloves, masks).
2.During poultry manure belt startup (real-time observation):
Check the tension and misalignment of the manure conveyor belt(any left or right deviation must be adjusted immediately).
Observe the droop distance of the trailing end of the manure cleaning belt(should be ≤20 cm).
Listen for any abnormal noises from the manure machine equipment (friction, jamming, blade impact sounds).
3.After the manure conveyor belt is running (mandatory):
Clean the scraper blade, secondary scraper, and triangular scraper at the front end of the manure removal belt (at least once a week).
Clear the residues and sticky materials on the chicken manure belt, check if any manure is clumped and remove it.
4.Weekly inspection (maintenance items):
Check the flatness and wear of the scraper blade on the poultry manure conveyor belt; repair or replace it if necessary.
Check the tensioning mechanism, rollers, and bearing lubrication of the manure conveyor.Record the manure belt cleaning time, any abnormalities, and measures taken each time (for tracking purposes).
Conclusion:
The standardized, routine, and supervised use and maintenance of manure removal belt is the most direct and effective measure to ensure the environment of the chicken coop, reduce disease, extend equipment lifespan, and enhance productivity.
