In modern cascading coop systems, the hopper sweep is a special cleaning device mounted on an automatic feeding system, usually made of wear-resistant plastic or composite material. As a key component of the feeding crane, it automatically scrapes the inner wall of the trough during the feeding process, removes residual feed and agglomerated substances, and ensures the cleanliness of the trough.

Why do you need a hopper sweep?
1.Reduce feed waste and the risk of mildew
     Residual feed is highly susceptible to mildew in a humid environment. The hopper sweep blocks mold growth pathways by scraping off residues in real time, avoiding the health risks associated with the ingestion of spoiled feed by the flock. According to the actual measurement of the farm, the effective cleaning of the trough can reduce feed waste by about 5%.

2.Maintain the efficient operation of the automation system
     Feed agglomeration can hinder the feeding of the truck, causing the track to get stuck or the motor to be overloaded. The continuous scraping of the hopper sweep maintains the smooth surface of the trough, ensures the stable operation of the feeding system, and reduces the equipment failure rate.

3.Improve the health of your flock
     Moulded feeds can carry toxins such as aflatoxin. The hopper sweep blocks the pollution chain from the source, and cooperates with the V-shaped water connection trough in the automatic drinking water system (to prevent water pollution of the trough) to ensure the food safety of the chickens.

Technical design and working logic
     The hopper sweep is usually constructed with a flexible scraper or rotating brush, which is installed behind the hopper of the feeding crane. The workflow is highly synergistic with the feeding:When the feeding crane runs forward, the hopper is evenly fed with feed;When the crane is reversed, the trough sweep starts synchronously, and the residual feed in the trough is pushed to the sewage collection port or recovery device.
